An emblematic monument of Paris, the Eiffel Tower makes the eyes of millions of tourists shine every year. So how about taking advantage of a stay in Paris to wake up every morning to the imposing and elegant Dame de Fer? If the idea seduces you, it is at the Bleu de Grenelle that you will find a hotel room with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

The secrets of the Eiffel Tower

Each year, between 6 and 7 million people climb the steps of the Eiffel Tower to enjoy a breathtaking view of Paris. An emblematic monument par excellence of the capital, this 324-metre high tower is steeped in history.

The origins of the Eiffel Tower

Built on the initiative of Gustave Eiffel, on the occasion of the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1889, the Eiffel Tower has not always been unanimous. Deemed to be gloomy, too imposing, or too avant-garde, the Iron Lady was to be retired 20 years later. Yet the architect's prowess is recognized, and the so-called "300-meter tower" was never destroyed. It was even for a long time the tallest tower in the world, making it an internationally known attraction. If today its 324 meters high no longer make it the highest tower on the planet, it remains the highest accessible observation platform, since visitors can climb up to 279.11 meters to enjoy the exceptional panorama. .

A testimony of French industrial knowledge

No one would have imagined that the Eiffel Tower would become the most visited paying monument in the world. This wrought iron construction was initially a demonstration of industrial know-how. Its construction, which lasted more than 2 years, was at the time a real technological feat which was to be limited to proving the technical and architectural performance of French engineers.

Beyond this demonstration, the Eiffel Tower became the emblem of France throughout the world, but is also used for telecommunications, from the first radio signals in 1898, to TNT recently.

The staging of the Eiffel Tower

Staged at the heart of many events, the Eiffel Tower benefits from regular renovations and restorations that allow it to retain all its presence. A mythical site, the Iron Lady shines by its size, but also by its international lighting. Pyrotechnic shows, sparkles and colors allow the Eiffel Tower to live to the rhythm of important events in the country and around the world.

The restaurants and shops of the Eiffel Tower

Tourist site par excellence, the Eiffel Tower cannot escape its many souvenir shops. But it is above all the starred restaurant Jules Verne, the Champagne bar and the buffets that are worth the detour. What could be more chic than enjoying a chef's meal, or sipping a cocktail, at the top of the Eiffel Tower? Head to the first and second floors for the buffets and restaurant, and climb to the top to earn your glass of champagne with breathtaking views.
